How long and how often are cats in heat?
Cats are induced ovulators who are seasonally polyestrus — they come into heat for about two weeks, go out for one to two weeks and then are back in heat again until they are mated or ovulate by artifical means (see below). Cats stay in and out of heat for most of the spring through fall months. Indoor cats or cats in warm climates can cycle all year long.
