We are purchasing a Westie puppy from a breeder. We are told the puppy has a clean bill of health except for a very small navel hernia, which we are told is not serious and can be repaired with a “stitch or two” by a veterinarian in several months. Is this true? Will it cause problems? Is it hereditary? Should we wait for another puppy?
